I think that building an online community is a great empowering tool for learners. Just like in the past social networking would empower people through meeting other people, which in turn might foster professional relationships and booster professional careers, building and online community may provide a vast array of learning to the participant of a personal learning network or PLN. It is great that this type of networking allows users to share common educational interests and target specific needs.
It was interesting the advice on how to increase the number of comments in your blog, especially the part on rewarding those who comment, and that one on avoiding trying to be controversial just to get comments.
